Armed Forces eligibility

Guidance for anyone who is a serving regular, reserve or a veteran of the UK Armed Forces and is looking to become a member.

Eligible organisations

The following organisations are eligible under the Armed Forces service category:

  • British Army

  • Royal Navy

  • Royal Marines

  • Royal Air Force

Eligible roles

You can join if you are one of the following from an eligible organisation above:

  • Serving Regular or Reserve

  • Veteran (Regular or Reserve)

About roles

  • There are many roles within the Armed Forces, so we've grouped them into Regular and Reserve for now (we'll refine this over time)

  • We don't capture ranks. For example, select Regular regardless of your rank

  • Choose the option that best reflects your employment status (serving or veteran). For example, if you're a serving regular in the British Army, choose Regular – Serving

If you're a veteran

If you are a veteran, please:

  • Select the organisation you retired from

  • Choose the role that best matches your previous position

  • Select the Retired option. For example, if you're a veteran reserve of the Royal Navy, choose Reserve – Retired
