Host compliance checklist

What you need in place to ensure your holiday rental listing is safe, compliant and ready to host.

Note: We currently only list holiday rentals. As we add more escape types, such as spas and hotels, we’ll provide tailored guidance for each.

To maintain a safe and trusted platform, all hosts must ensure their property is safe, clean, and legally compliant. As part of onboarding, we’ll ask you to confirm that the following are in place (where applicable).

Fire safety

  • Smoke alarms

  • Carbon monoxide alarms

  • A fire blanket or extinguisher

  • A fire risk assessment


Gas & electrical safety

  • Electrical safety checks

  • Gas safety certificate

  • PAT testing

  • Oil tank checks and inspections


Health & safety

  • A general risk assessment

  • A maintenance schedule

  • Appropriate water safety measures

  • Legionella risk management

  • Compliance for hot tubs and swimming pools


Insurance

  • Buildings insurance

  • Public liability insurance


Local compliance

  • Local authority licences

  • Short-term rental permissions

  • An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

Important: Hosts are responsible for ensuring their rental complies with all applicable local laws and regulations.
